Tennessee demonstrates Hispanic is the new Black

A Tennessee woman has been exonerated of hate crimes against a Hispanic family, thanks to the convenient disappearance of the witnesses against her. Last summer, June Griffin trashed a Hispanic family grocery store after becoming enraged at the sight of a Mexican flag. Ms. Griffin explains her actions thusly: "When you come to the U.S. you have to become an American. You can't flaunt your culture on us." Indeed, how dare they display something they are proud of. How uppety of them.

Now that her victims have gone missing, all charges are being dropped against Ms. Griffin. Said Ms. Griffin: "I hope they are at the bottom of the river. They caused me a lot of grief." Whow. Maybe they are at the bottom of the river, and maybe in 30 years the new south will manage to find them and convict someone for something.

I think it would be interesting to see Ms. Griffin go hunting for Israeli flags. I wonder if the charges would be so easily dropped had she run a kosher deli out of town. I bet she'd get a rather different "outpouring of support" if she cast herself as an anti-Semite. Somehow I doubt that this woman or her gushing fans could ever be made to recognize the lack of any difference between anti-Semitism and anti-Mexicanism.

Of course, no one CALLS it genocide.
