That experiment is actually what's got me reading about fusion again. It is a remarkably simple apparatus. They are very careful to avoid discussion of power generation, but I would like to know precisely how many fusions per second would be required to reach "break-even" energy in their design. I guess I could calculate that from the rate of heating of their crystal. When I first read the article I didn't know how to do that, but apparently I've learned a lot in the past week...
